My Basketball Dream Team

Today, I shall be doing a story about my Dream Team of the NBA’s finest. I shall include pictures and everything, swanky right? The one thing I will say is that I picked the players who are currently on the rosters, no legends or anything. So no Micheal Jordan unfortunately. And lastly, all pictures used were taken from Keith Allison’s Flickr page. None of the pictures are copyrighted, but it only seems fair to credit him. On to the list.

Point Guard – Steve Nash

Nash has played for the Suns for ten seasons out of his sixteen season long career, and he has led the league in assists per game for five of them. Seeing as Point Guards are essentially the playmaker of the team this is extremely important, and Nash is one of the best in the league. And he is on course to leading the league again this year, currently leading with 10.9 a game. He is the best

Shooting Guard – Allen Iverson

Allen Iverson

Iverson is back where he belongs, with the 76ers. Despite not actually playing this season due to family health issues, he is still one of the best Shooting Guards in the league. For about five seasons he was the leader in points per game, and in the playoffs he has the second best scoring average out of all players, behind Jordan of course. His scoring averages makes him one of the best Shooting Guards in the game, in my opinion edging out Kobe Bryant. It was a hard choice.

Small Forward – LeBron James

LeBron James

James is constantly one of the best forwards in the game. He has a tremendous track record and is consistently ranked high in both points and rebounds. Considering the Forwards spend the majority of their times under the net or making shots these are important traits. Plus, he started his career strong. He holds countless “Youngest Player” awards, including Rookie of the Year, All-Star Game MVP and forty points in one game. He is one of the great Small Forwards. I played Small Forward in basketball, so I love him.

Power Forward – Dirk Nowitzki

Dirk Nowitzki

Now, this pick was insanely difficult. It was between Kevin Love, Kevin Garnett and Nowitzki. I had to do a lot of stat research to pick this one. The other just came easy. Nowitzki is a phenomenal Free Throw player first off. So you can count on him whenever he gets a shot he will mostly like make it 9/10 of the times. His field goal average is also constantly great. Besides that, he is the Mavericks all time leader in tons of categories. He is a brilliant player no doubt, but I’m still not sure who I prefer.

Centre – Dwight Howard

Dwight Howard

The Magic just seem to have a knack with Centres. They had O’Neil for around five seasons I think, and now they have had Howard all his career. To me, Centres are basically just defenders, so Blocks and Rebounds are incredibly important. Howard is a star in these two respects, and onto of that his shooting isn’t too bad either, You will never see him up in the shooting greats but he is decent when he gets the ball. He is by far and away the best centre.

So people, that is my dream team. Besides their achievements, they are just a pleasure to watch when they play. It saddens me none of the T’Wolves made my list, but I didn’t want to be bias. Rubio and Love are amazing, but these five are just dominant. So yeah, that is my NBA team, thanks for reading.
